California celebrates 1 million solar roofs
FRESNO – (INT) - Former Governors Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jerry Brown, along with other local elected officials, joined local high school students, solar business leaders and workers, renewable energy advocates, and community leaders in Fresno Thursday to celebrate achieving one million solar roofs across California.

In 2006, the Million Solar Roofs Initiative (SB 1–Murray) was signed setting a goal of building one million solar energy systems on homes, schools, farms, and businesses throughout the state.

Clean energy advocates are turning their attention to a new goal: building a million solar-charged batteries as a way to reach the state’s 100% clean energy goals reliably, safely, and cost-effectively. (INT)
