Air cargo center to create 2,000 full-time jobs
SAN BERNARDINO – (INT) – The San Bernardino International Airport Authority (SBIAA) Monday approved the development of the Eastgate Air Cargo Logistics Center at the Airport.

It is the first facility being built at the airport since the closing of the former Norton Field Air Base in 1994.

It is expected to bring more than 2,000 full-time jobs and generate millions of dollars in revenue within five years.

More than 11,000 jobs have been created at the San Bernardino International Airport since the existing partnership with Hillwood Enterprises, L.P.

Mayor and President of SBIAA, John Valdivia, urged local residents to apply for the jobs that will be created. “This development will provide a great renaissance for our economy and help us move towards a better, more prosperous future in San Bernardino,” Valdivia said.

Approval of the development comes just a week after getting clearance from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
