New section of border wall proves effective
SAN DIEGO (INT) A section of new border wall at Otay Mesa has gotten its first test.

A man and two women, under the cover of dense fog, tried to enter the U.S. by climbing a new 30-foot, steel bollard wall. The trio became stuck at the top of the wet, slippery wall after smugglers abandoned them.

The San Diego Fire Department used a ladder truck to remove the three people from the wall without injury. Border Patrol agents questioned the group about their nationality and all three were determined to be Mexican nationals.

The individuals, a 36-year-old male, a 20-year-old female, and an 18-year-old female were transported to a nearby Border Patrol station for processing.
