Beleaguered Route 91 motorists told of pending relief
CORONA – (INT) - The Orange County Transportation Agency (OCTA) has voted to chip in $15 million to add a regular, general-purpose lane on westbound 91 from Green River Road to Route 241.

Both the OCTA and the Riverside County Transportation Commission (RCTC) are funding the $36.2 million project with surplus toll revenue from the 91 Express Lanes.

Environmental studies and design are underway. Construction is scheduled to begin in the second half of 2020. RCTC anticipates the new lane to open by the end of 2021.

The project was envisioned in 2018 and accelerated in response to Riverside County residents and local leaders.
