San Bernardino homicide rate spikes; Five dead this month
SAN BERNARDINO – (INT) – The city’s horrific homicide rate is showing no sign of slowing.

Two men are dead in the wake of a double shooting, the fourth and fifth homicides of the month.

Police identified those who died at the scene on North Grand Avenue Tuesday as Israel Delatorre and Daniel Melendrez, both 34, of San Bernardino.

As in three previous slayings, all were by gunfire and apparently unrelated.

Police, at last report, had no motives and no suspects or witness information.

During 2019, thirty-seven people were listed as homicide victims in the city. There were no arrests in most of the incidents.
