Active investigations mounted into unsolved homicides
SAN BERNARDINO – (INT) – Beleaguered police have been hit with seven homicide investigations since the beginning of the year and are turning to the public to help solve several others.

Detectives say that one of the most baffling was last August’s gunshot slaying of middle school teacher Nancy Magana, age 25. She was found fatally wounded inside a parked vehicle near 30th Street and Flores Street.

Other homicides occurred in September on Darby Street and two others in January a day apart. All the incidents involved shootings.

Investigators say they have developed information, but are reaching out to the public in hopes of solving each case.

More details are expected at a Tuesday news conference.
