Local purchasing managers weigh-in on virus impact
INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) – The potential economic impact of the coronavirus has surfaced in the Inland Empire.

The monthly Purchasing Manager’s Index (PMI) is improved for the fifth consecutive month. But, the Institute of Applied Research at Cal State San Bernardino cautions that “given the recent drops in the stock market and fears about the coronavirus hitting our shores, any forecast must be made with caution.”

Looking ahead to the Second Quarter, nearly one-fourth of the local purchasing managers surveyed said the local economy will become weaker, 15% thought it will become stronger and 62% continue to believe it will stay the same over the next quarter.
