Auto Club: Falling gasoline prices haven’t hit bottom
SOUTHLAND – (INT) – As the coronavirus gets a tighter grip on California, gasoline prices continue to slide. And, the Auto Club says motorists haven’t seen the bottom yet.
Pump prices are now below those of last year at this time. The statewide average for a gallon of 87 octane regular is $3.28 and about the same in the Inland Empire. Prices are falling at a double-digit clip each week. It’s the result of a sagging demand for oil and gasoline.
“We are seeing the lowest gas prices drop further and most consumers should be able to find regular unleaded fuel for close to or under $3 a gallon,” said Auto Club spokesman Jeffrey Spring. “As long as demand and oil prices stay low, we should see gas prices continue to drop.”
