Drive-up virus testing expanded in Riverside County
LAKE ELSINORE – (INT) – Testing for the coronavirus is being expanded in Riverside County.
Drive-up testing will be available at the Diamond Stadium at Lake Elsinore for those living within a 50-mile radius of Riverside.
The stadium has been designated as a Community-based Training Site (CBTS). It is stocked with additional test kits and equipment. All such CBTS sites in California are federally-supported.
Residents must call 800-945-6171 to make an appointment over the phone for the Lake Elsinore testing site. Walk-ins are not accepted.
In the Coachella Valley, appointments for the drive-up testing site there will continue to be made over the phone.
A COVID-19 testing site in Indian Wells will be relocated to the Riverside County Fairgrounds in Indio. The first day of testing at the fairgrounds is Tuesday (March 31), in parking lots 5 and 5A.
The Indian Wells site at the Southwest Church has been in operation since March 17. The testing schedule will remain the same: Tuesdays through Saturdays until supplies are exhausted – or the community’s needs have been met.
The drive-up site runs between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Appointment times are discussed when residents call the toll-free number at 800-945-6171. Residents must have symptoms to make an appointment, which include fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose or congestion.
