Inland Empire’s population growth rivals other metro areas
RIVERSIDE – (INT) – As the 2020 Census gets underway, new figures show that since 2010 Riverside County was among the ten fastest-growing in the nation.

Texas claimed six of the top 10 numerical gainers. Others were in Arizona, Nevada and Washington.

As of 2019, the Census Bureau estimated there were just under 2-and-a-half million residents in Riverside County making it the 10th most-populous in the nation.

When combined with San Bernardino County, the Inland Empire gained 425,683 residents since the 2010 Census. Only nine other Metropolitan areas added more.

Despite the local region’s dramatic growth, over half (53.6%) of the counties in the United States were smaller in 2019 than they were in 2010.
