Riverside County lists ‘hot spots’ for coronavirus
RIVERSIDE – (INT) – The number of new coronavirus cases is spreading into the western portions of Riverside County. The cities of Riverside and Moreno Valley and Corona are in double digits.

The most deaths have occurred in the Coachella Valley where the virus was first reported in the Inland Empire.

Among the largest cities, Moreno Valley has the most reported cases.

It appears the Hemet-San Jacinto area has been largely spared but new cases are being reported in Temnecula and Murrieta.

By far, most of the victims are men mostly in the 40-62 age group.

Riverside County Public Health Officer Dr. Cameron Kaiser has ordered all short-term lodging, including short-term home rentals, hotels and motels to limit their business to novel coronavirus response only.

Limited activities that are still allowed under this order include providing lodging to protect the homeless population or for essential workers. Providing lodging for anyone who must leave their home to safely isolate away from other family members, or family members displaced due to someone self-isolating at home, are also permitted under the order.

“Now isn’t the time to visit Riverside County,” said Kaiser. “Slowing the spread of COVID-19 means folks need to stay put in their own neighborhoods."
