Mail thief struck post offices in five cities
HEMET – (INT) – A suspected mail thief accused of dipping into curbside deposit boxes at five Inland Empire Post Offices has been arrested.

An inventory of stolen items found in a vehicle stopped by Hemet police included 340 personal checks, cashier’s checks, money orders and savings bonds.

One of two people in the vehicle, Stephen Brayley, had been sought on arrest warrants for grand theft and counterfeiting.

Most of the stolen mail had been taken during the month of March from the following post offices:

Hardman Post Office- 5172 Arlington Avenue, Riverside, CA 92504
Chino Hills Post Office- 14071 Peyton Drive, Chino Hills, CA 91709
San Jacinto Post Office- 315 E. Esplanade Avenue, San Jacinto, CA 92583
Moreno Valley Post Office- 23580 Alessandro Avenue, Moreno Valley, CA 92553
Palm Desert Post Office- 74801 Hovley Lane E. Palm Desert, CA 92260
