Coronavirus cases mounting up faster than predicted RIVERSIDE – (INT) – County health officials are out with some sobering projections for the COVID-19 virus into early May.
Average doubling time for COVID-19 in Riverside County is 4.7 days. Projections are for about 742 cases in 5 days and more than 60,000 by May 6th. Deaths could top 1,000. “We’re seeing our numbers increasing even sooner than we predicted and that means our strategy must change too”, County public Health Officer Dr. Cameron Kaiser said. “Covering your face doesn’t change the orders everyone must abide by to stay home as much as possible and maintain social distancing, but it’s an extra layer of protection that I think we need to add,” Dr. Kaiser said.
