March storms were biggest in more than a year
INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) – Mother Nature showed off her versatility during the so-called rainy season that ranged from the beginnings of a drought to the wettest month in more than a year.

Measureable rain in Riverside was recorded on nine days during March. More than 4-inches fell during the month compared to an average of 1.69”. That was more than the combined total for all of January and February which was just 2-tenths-of-an-inch in Riverside.

Drought conditions were beginning to return to parts of California, but the March Miracle quickly reversed that trend. Since the beginning of the rainfall year last July, precipitation to date is slightly below normal.

In the mountains, 73 inches of snow has fallen this season at Big Bear or about 11 inches more than average.
