Demand drives up gasoline prices
SOUTHLAND – (INT) – Californians are becoming more mobile and that’s being reflected in gasoline prices.
As crude oil prices also rise, California’s average for a gallon of 87 octane regular has risen 6-cents the past week.
In Riverside, the average per-gallon price is $2.78, which is six cents higher than last month. In San Bernardino, the $2.80 average price is five cents higher than the prior week.
Some motorists consider those pump prices a bargain.
“The last time California Memorial Day travelers saw average gas prices this low was in 2016,” said Auto Club spokesman Jeffrey Spring. As the state continues to gradually open the economy, we can expect to see gas prices continue to rise,” he said.
