Jail inmates add to new virus cases
SAN BERNARDINO – (INT) – Five inmates in San Bernardino County jails are among 189 more individuals who have acquired the COVID-19 virus, according to Thursday’s county update.

The two new arrestees/inmates were taken directly to isolation housing. Two inmates who were being held at the Glen Helen Rehabilitation Center in quarantine were transferred to isolation when positive test results were received. The fifth inmate is at the Central Detention Center, in isolation.

That brings to eight the number of county jail inmates who’ve tested positive for the coronavirus.

Inmates are being provided with masks, cleaning supplies and soap.

Riverside County health officials reported 159 new cases Thursday and 14 deaths.
