Freeway litter clean-up crews return
SACRAMENTO – (INT) – The clean-up of roadside litter has been dealt a setback because of the COVID-19 pandemic. But, Caltrans has hit the reset button.

Clean-up along freeways and state highways has been limited since March.

Going forward, Caltrans says its maintenance workers and those in the Adopt a Highway program are adhering to recommendations developed with licensed industrial hygienists to ensure safe working environments while removing litter.

Crews are wearing personal protective equipment (PPE’s) such as facemasks and gloves and practice physical distancing.
