L-A TV personalities vanish from the small screen
LOS ANGELES Some well-known faces are disappearing from Los Angeles television.

Veteran reporter Dave Lopez and weatherman Fritz Coleman announced their retirements this week.

Earlier, KCBS-TV and its sister station KCAL-TV, laid off news anchors Jeff Michael, Sharon Tay and Sandra Mitchell, and meteorologist Garth Kemp. Michael had previously worked for Fox11 and Kemp for KABC.

Their dismissals came amid sweeping corporate layoffs. They were among the longest tenured TV personalities in Los Angeles.
