Coastal eddy breaks heat wave, but cranks up winds
SOUTHLAND - (INT) - The dangerous heat of the past three days is over and only the deserts will continue with typical triple-digit afternoons.

Mother Nature has whipped up a coastal eddy spinning just off shore bringing dense fog to elevated areas of coastal terrain and slight day-to-day cooling inland.

That same scenario is creating gusty winds over the mountains and through the passes each afternoon maintaining the wildfire danger.

Forecasters predict dry weather this week and likely through the middle part of the month
