Pandemic infections continue trending upward, hospitalizations fall
RIVERSIDE – (INT) – In the first tally in 3-days, the number of new COVID-19 infections in Riverside County has soared by 1,531.

Health officials reported Monday that an additional 21 people have died bringing the county’s toll to 820.

On an encouraging note, the number of people hospitalized has dropped to 359 with 112 patients in intensive care.

In neighboring San Bernardino County, 1133 new infections were reported over the same 3-day period and 49 deaths.

Total coronavirus infections for the Inland Empire since last March number 78,055. Deaths total 1,366.
