High-speed rail project impacts Inland Empire
LOS ANGELES – (INT) – A southern segment of the California hi-speed rail project will indirectly involve the Inland Empire.

The Los Angeles-to-Anaheim section will travel along the BNSF-owned corridor which will have to be relocated—along with its freight operations--to the Inland Empire.

The California High-Speed Rail Authority will seek environment clearance for a new intermodal rail freight facility in Colton and staging tracks at Lenwood near Barstow.

The authority is accepting written comments on the environmental impact of those facilities until September 24th.
