Manpower surveys employers’ hiring plans
INLAND EMPIRE – (INT) – Manpower, Inc. says local employers plan to hire at a ‘hopeful pace’ during the year-ending holidays and the Fourth Quarter of the year.

Nineteen percent surveyed in the Inland Empire plan to hire more employees from October through December. That number is offset by the 8 percent that plan to reduce payrolls while 71 percent of employers expect to maintain current staff levels. Two percent indicate they are not sure of their hiring plans.

From October to December, employers are optimistic about hiring in Construction, Nondurable Goods Manufacturing, Transportation & Utilities, Wholesale & Retail Trade and Education & Health Services and other services.

Decreases in payrolls are expected in Leisure & Hospitality and Government.
