Distance learning gets an extension in San Bernardino
SAN BERNARDINO – (INT) – Classes in California’s eighth largest school district will continue online through June 2021.

That’s the decision of the San Bernardino City Unified School District Board of Trustees at their November 17th meeting.

The trustees reasoned that, at present, the coronavirus is spreading at alarming rates and families living in its attendance boundaries are especially at risk. According to a statement issued Wednesday, the health and safety of students and employees is at the forefront.

The only in-person instruction for small groups of students with specifically identified educational needs will be offered when the Board deems it safe to do so.

The trustees reasoned that extending distance learning for at least 7-months will also allow families to better plan.
