Pandemic may further depress gas prices
SOUTHLAND – (INT) – The COVID-19 pandemic is having a greater impact on gasoline prices.

The Automobile Club of Southern California predicts that pandemic-related lockdown orders could depress the consumption bringing down pump prices.

For the moment, prices are unchanged with the statewide average at $3.18 for a gallon of 87 octane regular. In Riverside, the average per-gallon price is $3.11.

According to Oil Price Information Service, California’s fuel demand is now 19 percent below a year ago, and at the height of the lockdown in April it was 55 percent below 2019 levels.
