RIVERSIDE--A Canyon Crest housewife is accused of battering her 17-month-old son at the family’s home.

Lori Burchett’s husband found the toddler dead in a bedroom when he returned home late Monday night and called police.

Detective Mark Rossi says they questioned all the family members.

“The suspect was detained at her residence and later transported to the Magnolia Police Station.”

Although no weapons were found, Rossi said that Garrison Burchett died of head trauma and a puncture wound in his abdomen.

Police will file their murder case with the DA’s office Wednesday or Thursday.
