Mandatory water restriction reminder
INLAND EMPIRE--Showers have been hit-and-run, but water restrictions are here to stay.

This rainfall season is coming up short in many areas. It will have to be far above-normal this month to replenish California’s reservoirs.

Mandatory restrictions on landscape irrigation, car washing and driveway hose-downs have been imposed in the Eastern Municipal Water District which covers a wide area from Moreno Valley to Temecula.

Spokesman Peter Odencrans says there are consequences.

“We could penalize the property owner by $25 added to their water bill. If the problems aren’t resolved, could result in penalties of $50 to over $100 each.”
