Governor Schwarzenegger threw down the gauntlet Tuesday.

“I am signing an executive order directing CAL FIRE to immediately mobilize more personnel, engines, helicopters and planes. Each engine will carry a crew of four firefighters rather than three.”

The governor pledged during a news conference at Davis that the state ‘will not be caught off guard or understaffed or under equipped.”

Several fires have already flared this spring across the Inland Empire, the largest at 200 acres.
