Broadcasters study potential of Internet radio
RIVERSIDE--The rise of Internet radio is drawing more attention. It has many parallels to the coming of FM radio fifty years ago.

Industry observers say that streaming media could be the heir apparent to broadcast radio. But, Entertainment Editor Bob Sokolsky says that may take a while.

“As listeners and radio station operators begin to realize the potential, this will catch on.”

Key attractions are a broad choice of streams and fewer commercials.

Sokolsky says local radio broadcasters may be better pre-wired to succeed in Internet radio, but so far there’s little evidence of that. (INT)
