Trash dumpster ordered to prison
A Hemet man has been given an 18-month federal prison sentence for threatening a Forest Service officer who’d been investigating the source of trash dumped in the San Bernardino National Forest. A jury convicted Richard Latka, 57, of threatening to assault and murder the officer. The officer drove away from the scene of the incident in 2014, but Latka pursued the officer in his own car, screaming that he was going to kill him. (INT)
